Partnership SHAPPS and Eastern Wyo College

This year had a great partnership with Eastern Wyoming College that led to our enlightening Archeology Symposium.

This years lectures included: bats, rocks, ranches, archeology along the Platte, and many more interesting topics.

Preserving History one sign at a time!

SHAPPS, along with several other great community organizations, initiated this roadside sign project to inform the public of our diverse Wyoming History.

Volunteers for Peace

Since 1982 VFP has exchanged more than 32,000 volunteers with non-profit organizations world wide. This year Sunrise had VFP helping with archeology.

Experienced archaeologist like George Zeimens share knowledge of Powars II site, Palo-Indian history and the archeology of the area. This along with Colorado Fuel and Iron Company history shared by local people.

The young adults that came this year transformed the old crumbling garage doors to sturdy good looking doors for the future.
